If you own or occupy property next to a public sidewalk in the Village, you are responsible for keeping that sidewalk clear of snow, ice, and other obstacles.

This rule applies to all property owners and occupants, including businesses, regardless of their operating hours.

The goal is to ensure the sidewalk is a level and unobstructed walkway.

Time Limit: Sidewalks must be cleared within 24 hours after 1 inch or more of snow accumulates, or within 24 hours after the snow event has finished.

Alternative Method: If you cannot remove the snow or ice without damaging the sidewalk or risking injury, you must spread salt and/or sand until conditions allow for safe removal.
