Garbage Collection & Recycling
The Village of Carbon Cliff contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection and recycling. Everyone within the village limits is required to have garbage collection and all residential customers within the village limits have the option of paying for recycling collection.
Trash Collection Days
Monday: Merry Oaks Subdivision (across from golf course), Villa Pines, and Colona Road
Tuesday: Downtown, Cliff Heights, and East Lawn
Placement of Carts
On your collection day, your waste cart should be placed out for collection by 6:00 am. To keep your cart clean and reduce litter, we recommend that garbage is placed in trash bags within your waste cart. Please follow these recommendations if carts are placed in your alley.
Keep the cart three feet away from all other objects such as trees, bushes, mailboxes, fencing, and landscaping. Please do not park vehicles in front of your carts.
With the use of automated trucks, the Village’s garbage hauler is unable to collect extra bags of garbage left outside of the garbage totes. Republic Services will only collect the bagged garbage that is placed inside of the garbage totes. Do not stack additional garbage bags, boxes, etc., in such a manner that the lid cannot be closed. The lid on the garbage tote must be able to close. Any garbage that falls from the tote when being collected will not be picked up. The homeowner will be responsible for all spilled garbage. Please plan accordingly. If this is an ongoing problem, you may contact the Village Hall to pay for an additional tote.
On weeks when a holiday occurs, if your collection day falls on or after a holiday, the collection will shift to the following day for the remainder of the week. Except on Sundays. You may download a printable pdf schedule below. The following holidays are observed by Republic Services:
- New Years Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Day
