BUDGET TASK FORCE COMMITTEE MEETINGS ARE HELD ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS
DON BREWER (CHAIRPERSON) | MARK GAST | JESSIE SANDERS
The Budget Task Force Committee is a special committee created by the Village President Ken Williams to help look at the Village Budget. This committee is designed to find areas within the Budget that could be changed or even cut to help save the Village money. The Village has been working hard to avoid a financial deficit and with the help of the Budget Task Force Committee, the Village Budget is getting turned around and our Village finances are getting stronger.
The Budget Task Force Committee is comprised of three Village Trustees. They are Trustee Don Brewer as Chairperson, Trustee Mark Gast and Trustee Jessie Sanders. The meetings are open to the public and anyone that wishes to attend may do so. By looking at different ways to save money, cut expenditures, and raise revenues, the Budget Task Force Committee has reviewed all Village departments and made changes and recommendations that have helped strengthen our finances.
One of these changes was creating a contract with the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Department effective June 1, 2004 to begin handling the Village’s law enforcement. By doing so this saved the Village of Carbon Cliff $141,000.00 on the Annual Budget and will help lower the Village Tax Levy within the coming years.
