Special Pickup / Bulk Items

The Special Pickup / Bulk Items collection is scheduled for the first Thursday of every month.  Those residents who wish to take advantage of this service may stop by the Village Hall and obtain a BULK ITEM STICKER. The cost per sticker is $10.00 each.  Once a sticker has been obtained each resident must contact the city of East Moline at 752-1573 with their name, address and items to be picked up. Be sure to place the sticker on an item that scavengers will not take.  If the collection truck cannot see the sticker then the items will not be collected. If you have any questions, please call 792-8235.

ITEMS THAT CAN BE PICKED UP: BEDS, BOX SPRINGS, MATTRESSES, SOFAS, CHAIRS, CARPET (CUT IN FOUR FOOT SECTIONS ROLLED AND TIED), AND OTHER LARGE DISCARDED HOUSEHOLD FURNITURE, FURNISHINGS, AND FIXTURES.  IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF AN ITEM, PLEASE CONTACT THE VILLAGE HALL OR THE CITY OF EAST MOLINE TO SEE IF IT QUALIFIES FOR COLLECTION.

ITEMS THAT CANNOT BE PICKED UP: ITEMS GENERATED BY BUSINESS, CONSTRUCTION / DEMOLITION OR ROOFING DEBRIS, TOXIC / HAZARDOUS / INFECTIOUS / OR EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS, OIL / AUTOMOTIVE PARTS OR BATTERIES.

This program collects and disposes of old appliances and residentially generated tires, with rims removed, at no charge to residents. Please call 1 (877) 934.5378 for responsible disposal information and to make an appointment.

LIMIT: Four appliances per household per year.

LIMIT: Ten tires per household per year.

Needle Disposal At Home

Carefully Recap Your Needles.  Place Needles And Syringes In A Puncture Resistant Container (Sharps Collector) Designed To Accommodate Used Needles And Syringes (Also Can Use Coffee Can Or Rigid Bleach Bottles).  When Container Is Full, Pour One [1] Cup Bleach Over Used Needles / Syringes And Soak For One [1] Minute, Then Empty Bleach Solution From Container By Pouring Slowly Down Sink Drain. Take Precaution To Protect Yourself While Doing This Procedure!
